Continuing our commitment to a more sustainable future
Allegrini has long since embarked on a journey to create sustainable value, through a series of activities aimed at making sustainability the central focus around which the company's strategy is developed. Last year our first Sustainability Report ('Report Zero') was published for 2021, and the choice to measure sustainability highlights the challenge in facing this path, as well as the desire to constantly involve everyone in this fundamental process. The aim of the Report is to make our results even clearer and more measurable, to make the effects of sustainability actions transparent, and to make the targets still to be achieved.
Important steps have been taken in 2022 and, at the same time, we know that we still have great goals to achieve to help create a more sustainable future.
We are therefore happy to present you with the Sustainability Report 2022 (browsable here).
The Report has been prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) reporting standards, which measure company performance according to three impact areas (environmental, social and governance), and documents Allegrini's concrete commitment to promoting sustainable development. Every year the Sustainability Plan undergoes an updating process by Allegrini's Sustainability Manager with the active participation of all people, to ensure an ever greater integration of sustainability throughout the company's value chain.
Below are the most important activities completed in 2022 by Allegrini for a more sustainable future:
- the implementation of a proprietary supply chain assessment system based on the most relevant ESG parameters for the industry, which will lead in the 2023 financial year to the development of an ESG Rating that will be considered in the evaluation of supply relationships;
- the testing of the wastewater and cooling water recovery plant;
- the development of the Allegrini Academy, a course aimed at enhancing the individual potential of employees;
- the continuation of the promotion of the DPlanet range and the line of concentrated detergents, which, for years, have been the concrete manifestation of Allegrini's commitment to the environment.
